The Napa Valley Museum Yountville presents Land and People of Napa Valley through November 2019. Sponsored by “Do Napa,” the museum’s permanent exhibit ‘pops up’ in downtown Napa at the Goodman Library highlighting the Napa Valley’s history, people, geography and how the valley’s unique geology made the region’s agriculture and viticulture industries flourish.

This pop-up exhibition Includes many of the Museum's most popular Permanent History Cases, including both objects and text, covering topics including Geology: the Creation of the Valley, The Land, History of Valley Transportation, Ranching & Farming, Mining, Pioneer Days, the Rancho Days, Hot Springs Resorts  Chinese of Napa Valley, Jews of Napa Valley, Prohibition, and The Agricultural Preserve. The exhibit is Free to the public during Goodman Library’s open hours.

Led by music historian and acclaimed guitarist Joey Leone, along with two other musicians, this event covers the history, influence and impact of American blues music through songs, stories and historical facts. Over his long career, Joey has toured as a sideman guitar player for many high profile artists including Etta James, The  Coasters, Sam & Dave, Wilson Pickett, Chaka Khan, and many more.            Appropriate for all ages!

With sweet-smelling marigold petals and joyful songs, a family welcomes back their beloved ancestors. This lively and colorful (and not too scary) tribute to a unique holiday is in English and Spanish.

Bob Barner is the author and illustrator of over 25 books for children, including Fish Wish and Bugs! Bugs! Bugs! An accomplished artist, he began his career as a cartoonist working on Li'l Abner under Al Capp before moving on to art direction and illustration. His clients include The Boston Globe, Scholastic, Chronicle, the New England Aquarium, Little, Brown, and many more.

In honor of Day of the Dead, the Napa library will have a community offering open to the public. We invite you all to bring copies of photos, written stories,and memories to honor and celebrate our ancestors.

This weekend event, November 2nd - November 3rd brings our community together across cultures to enjoy a popular and meaningful Latin American tradition.  The Day of the Dead remembers people no longer with us and is a rich community, artistic, Latinx heritage and spiritual tradition.

Come learn about local Indian tribes and see beautiful Pomo regalia items. Suscol Intertribal Council is a community-based organization located in the Napa Valley that is dedicated to preserving human rights for indigenous people by linking with other NGOs around the world.
